Katanagatari ~ Ep. 11 & 12 ~ Cheerio~, Katanagatari. *punches* T____T

BAMF Shichika is f*ckin' HAWT. Nuff said. 8DD

I’M FINALLY FRIGGIN’ DONE!!!! FWAAAAHHHH! *strikes FIERCE! pose*…WAAAHHHH, IT ENDED! *cries in a corner* T_________________T

…*recovers* Erhem…Whee~ Hey, guys! I’m truly, REALLY sorry for the huge delay. Wow, I never thought I would push it all the way into the New Year. GOMEN! >.<

But I have a somewhat good reason for it since this marks as the first and only episodic show so far that I have EVER finished doing episodic posts for ignore the month-long delay for ep 11, lol so I want to make this a good post…even if I have a few not-so-complimentary stuff to say, I want this to be a MASTERPIECE! Which means…it’ll be long…yyyyeeeeeaaaaahhhh~ Aorii-san, you asked for it. lawl~ ;D

And what I meant by “masterpiece” also includes some pointless egg-brained random ranting as well so prepare yourself for that. THIS IS XIAO’S COMEBACK AND NOTHING’S STOPPIN ME, Y’HEAR?! WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOTTTTTT! *GOES CRAZY*

*cough*

So let’s get this underway, shall we? I’ll briefly hit over the important points along with some scenes I found funny and/or special and go a little “WWWWWWWWAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!” at the end cuz it was just AWESOME. 8D

Katanagatari ~ Ep. 10 ~ Saints can be trolls, too~

Or holy men, whatever.

Sorry for the delay. This was supposed to be posted up by last Sunday but I was too tired from school. Think I’ll have to start shortening my posts (aka cutting back on a lot of the screencapping). If not, I’ll have to go on hiatus which is something I don’t want. :(

So yea, gonna try and keep it short.

Katanagatari ~ Ep. 9 ~ Wanted more shogi. :P

I have to admit, it took me a while to actually like this episode. Togame’s childish jealousy really turned me off at first, greatly amusing as it was (still LMAO-ing here), but after subs came out, I totally loved it with abandon. Haha. xD;

Hardly the best. In fact, I would rank it around at the bottom of all the episodes but still pretty good despite the minimal action (Oshidori as a weaponized human swing carousel was too short, dammit!). At least we got some questions raised at the end about what other possible purposes the sword hunt might have. And at the same time, I’m starting to dread what will happen since they’re close to completing it.

…then there’s those strange movements (provided mostly by Togame, lawl~) all throughout but we’ll get to that later. Seriously, though, what’s up with all that weirdness? ^^;

Katanagatari ~ Ep. 8 ~ Kiki lived in the wrong era.

No doubt he hasn’t just gone ridiculously beyond the limits and conventions of his profession but he also had to dabble in technology way ahead of his time. And no, not the clockwork brilliance since similar mechanisms of that existed exactly in the Edo period that they are in now (minus the life sensors/alarms which had me going “Uhh…what?” ).
Naw, I’m talking about this hybrid of a tea-serving doll and a solar-powered humanoid helicopter, whichever way you want to mix those around first. And…besides the gears, it’s supposedly made out of wood, I’m assuming. Pretty tough wood that can endure two centuries but wood all the same. What does that say?

FOR SHAME, MODERN ENGINEERS! FOR SSSSSSSHHHHHHHHHHAAAAAAAAAMMMMMMMEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!

xD;

Ok, joking aside, it was a nice breather episode just like I wanted so maybe I can shorten this post a little lol, what does that mean?. I loved all of it like I always do but I don’t think I need to go into the details of a robot. Even though it was a very cool robot…that I want to use as the security system for my house. Phahaha!

Katanagatari ~ Ep. 7 ~ Nisioisin, YYYYYYYY?!?!?! T_T

Well, to be honest, I wouldn’t have this story any other way than how the author has written it. Shichika was able to fight against the true “Japan’s Strongest Swordsman”, his sister, who was given a satisfying role and death while having one of the better, nicely balanced complexities in character over the entire cast. Still, it was sad to see her die, even though that made her happy…cuz Shichika lost his sis! How can I not be sad for him?! *cries for Shichika* TT___________TT

Getting back to more of that later, for me, this is undoubtedly the best episode of them all and it won’t be topped until probably the last one. The previous episodes I’m more than content with but episode 7 (argh, this number!) draws us back to the near-start of this sword hunt, piles some family drama and angst on it, and partially concludes the Yasuri-family business’s way of doing things with what else other than SIBLING FIGHT!! (omg, we actually got action in this one). …And then topped off with a sense of utter helplessness cuz “THIS IS HOW IT WAS DONE IN THE OLD DAYS, KIDS!” kind of deal.

Uargh. *sniff* I think I’m going to be a crying mess while referring back to that all throughout the post so mind as well start.

*sniff* T_T

Katanagatari ~ Ep. 6 ~ Half a year too early for snow.

Haaaa…this was a good episode. Yea, the fighting scenes were poor compared to the previous ones but there was a significant amount of character development for Togame (that or I was just super happy to see her blushing again) as well as nice interaction among all the characters that showed up.

Plus, omg, Konayuki is so adorable that I wouldn’t mind getting a fatal bone-crushing hug from her! Kyaa~! I want to take her home! x333

lol, yea. So this is going to be a long review as I’m not holding back on anything and will try my best to cover everything I want to say. Pretty much almost every last minute of this ep but I can’t help it! I love this series! <333

Katanagatari ~ Ep. 5 ~ No rum jokes? Awww.

I know! This is late! I’m sorry! I really am! I was so distracted while trying to watch this! And argh, next episode is this Friday. I’m gonna die. D/

Ah, delays being delays and summer lethargy taking over, it’s become increasingly hard to do posts lately. I even had to drop one cuz it was taking so long to think up something to say…or organize it.

*sigh* At least I’m still determined to review Katanagatari all the way through to the end. Should be a little easier since I dropped DRRR!! and now I have more breathing room in between the monthly episodes.

Alrighty, onto this fifth installment, first time watching it had me screaming joys of fangirlism or fangirl joys, whichever have you. Things have turned slightly opposite than what I’d expect it to be but I’m not complaining since any character development on Shichika’s part is always a delight. Hee~ ^^

And yes, I will try my best to refrain from blood-curling squee-ing until his badass line near the end. ;D

Katanagatari ~ Ep. 4 ~ “Yea, about my sister…” to another level. o.O;;

Well for those were even expecting some screentime on the fight between Shichika and Hakuhei, you were just massively TROLLED…

Same here, actually, though it wasn’t that much of a shock but I wished they could’ve at least given us some flashbacks. All that EPIC battle was reduced to 30 seconds of last week’s preview. :P

Otherwise, this was still a good episode with the focus on (FREAKYAWESUMNEE-CHAN~!) Nanami enough to make up for all the action we didn’t get to see…even though it would have been great if we had double the Kyoutouryuu action. *pokes foot into floor sulkily* =3=
And it’s funny because we probably saw more actual fighting in this one ep than the first three combined. I’m betting the following ones won’t promise much either. Shame. <P

The flowers everywhere were very purdy, though. Purdy~ *flowers* 8D

Yea, I'll just start now since I have lot to ramble on anyway. Haha. |D;

Katanagatari ~ Ep. 3 ~ How do you like them yangire swordsmen?

Tall and half-naked, plz. lol xD;

Alright, just wait a sec. I don’t really classify him as a yangire at all since he’s not secretly psychotic or anything but…um, yea, if you watched this, you’d know why I referenced to it. >.>;

But yay! I finally get around to doing this. Been waiting all week and still have to study for a midterm scheduled for Monday but not in the mood to do that now cuz my Nanoha nendoroid arrived and I’m so DAMN happy, yes I am! x333

Haha, so yea, I’m in a good mood. It’s pouring outside where I am but I’m in a good mood. :)

Ok, back on topic, ahh, this episode was a great improvement on the last two. Again, all action was dealt with in the last five minutes of it but I think by this point, that’s not really going to be an issue anymore. At least it shouldn’t be if this was satisfactory for you.

For me, it just keeps getting better every time and I have to thank Nisioisin for giving us Meisai as Shichika’s opponent in this third installment. Though it’s still early to say who’s the best supporting character, she has the best fleshed-out character over Ginkaku and Koumouri. And I’ll get more into that shortly.

But first!

Katanagatari ~ Ep. 2 ~ Catchphrases, insurance, and “Cheerio!”s.

Oh yea, you two, while you sit and have a nice chat in the middle of a freakin’ DESERT (and the real thing isn’t even called a desert, but sand dunes), why not enjoy a cup of tea and cookies over your conversation?

xD; I thought Togame would have enough sense to rent a horse or a camel if they had one or something but oh well.

Haha, I’m going to assume this was the break or take episode for many. Ep 2 delivered a slight more action but the amount of dialogue is pretty much unmoved. I found it hard to get excited over the fight scenes (instead I went “ooo~, purdy lights~”) but the interaction between Ginkaku and Shichika made up for everything.

So yes, I’m still LOVING this show and now I curse it because it’s a month long wait instead of just a week for the next ep. GRR!!

Warning again: image heavy, slow browsers will take ya a long time to view gifs and lengthy rambling ahead.
